Reminder of Submission of Statistical Reports

Greetings from the Statistics Section of the Ministry of Tourism.

We take this opportunity to remind you on the data submission requirements under the "Regulation on Collection of Data for the Compilation of Tourism Statistics" (Regulation No. 20 11/R-19, dated 31 May 2011). Please note that it is a mandatory requirement for all tourist accommodating establishments in the Maldives, to submit weekly and monthly reports on tourist s staying in their establishments to this Ministry. Hence, we advise all facilities to submit the reports mentioned in the regulation within the given deadlines. The Regulation, along with an unofficial English translation of it, can be downloaded from our website at the link http://www.tourism.gov.mv/laws-and-regulations/regulations The data we collect are compiled and monthly report s are published only in aggregate forms. Attached for your reference, please find a graphical presentation of the 2018 tourism statistics we have published.

As you are aware, the data mentioned in the above regulation can be submitted online through our eportal TIMS, Tourism Information Management System https://citizen.egov.mv/tourism. Hence, all facilities need to register at this portal. We appreciate the efforts of all the facilities taking time to submit the data via th is portal regularly and advice the new facilities that are not registered in this portal to register and start submitting the data mentioned in the regulation.
