Monitoring impact of COVID-19- Reporting Cancellation and Reservations

With reference to our Circular dated 26 January 2020 (Ref No. 88-SS/CIR/2020/4) please be informed that we are closely monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on the Maldivian tourism industry.

As such, we require timely cancellation and reservation reports from tourist facilities to assess the current situation and take necessary measures to overcome this. Therefore, please submit the cancellation and reservation data requested by the above referenced circular in the format attached. Please submit the reports to us by noon daily (12:00hrs.) via email to [email protected]. Tourist facilities with no cancellations or reservations for the day are also required to submit a NIL report. We kindly request tourist facilities that have not submitted the daily reports from 26th January 2020 to submit all the pending reports at the earliest.

We urge all tourist facilities to submit this information as it is crucial for policy decisions, to minimize any long-term negative impact on the tourism industry due to the current travel restrictions on some travellers and airlines.
