Novel Coronavirus – Situation Monitoring

Following the recent developments in the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak and cancelled direct flights between China and the Maldives, the Ministry of Tourism is monitoring the number of tourists that may be affected by this suspended air connectivity.

Hence, kindly please fill the attached form and send to us by 18:00hrs todav,2 February 2020 via email to stat@tourism,gov.mv. Please include all passengers who have been scheduled to fly on China Eastern, China Southern, Beijing Capital Airlines and Maldivian. Please also include in the list passengers who may have scheduled to fly to China on any other airline. ln the list please indicate clearly current arrangements for return trip whether alternative flights have been booked or not.

All the above airlines have cancelled their flights to the Maldives and some tourists were stranded at Velana lnternational Airport on 1 February 2020. Therefore, please check the flight status regularly and avoid sending any tourist to the airport without alternative arra ngements for trave! ling.
