Gulf Carriers Resume Operations to the Maldives

The Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Honourable Mohamed Ameen, has confirmed that Gulf carriers have resumed operations to the Maldives despite the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

Sharing an update on the current status of airline operations, the Minister said Emirates and Etihad are each operating two daily flights to the Maldives. Qatar Airways is continuing with daily flights through to June, and flydubai has resumed limited passenger services.

The Minister also noted that Gulf Air and Air Arabia are expected to resume their operations to the Maldives in May.

The return of these carriers is a positive development for the Maldives, as Gulf airlines play an important role in connecting the country to key source markets across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. Strong air connectivity remains one of the main drivers of tourist arrivals to the Maldives.

The Ministry continues to work closely with airline partners and relevant authorities to maintain stable air connectivity and support the continued growth of the tourism sector.
