Maldivian and SriLankan Airlines Establish Interline Partnership

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, and SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka and a member of the oneworld alliance, have entered into a strategic interline partnership to strengthen air connectivity between the two countries and beyond.

Under the agreement, passengers will gain seamless access to 17 destinations across the Maldivian archipelago, with the partnership enabling travellers to book journeys on a single electronic ticket, ensuring smoother transfers to and from Malé and Gan.

Maldivian passengers will also gain improved access to a wider range of global destinations through SriLankan Airlines' international network, offering greater convenience and flexibility for outbound travel.

The partnership will enable seamless connections for travellers from key global markets into the Maldives via Colombo. This strengthens one of the most important transit routes into the country, making the Maldives more accessible for international visitors arriving through Sri Lanka.

This interline agreement is a positive development for the Maldives tourism sector. Improved access to outer atolls and domestic destinations beyond Malé supports the Government's efforts to spread tourism across the country and develop regional connectivity. The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation welcomes this partnership and the role it plays in advancing air connectivity to and within the Maldives.
