Minister Mohamed Ameen Chairs Visit Maldives Year 2027 Steering Committee Meeting

The Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Honourable Mohamed Ameen, chaired the Visit Maldives Year 2027 Steering Committee meeting at the Ministry. The meeting brought together members of the Steering Committee to review progress and discuss the way forward for preparations.

Visit Maldives Year 2027 is a landmark national initiative announced by His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in his 2026 Presidential Address. The campaign aims to bring together stakeholders from across the tourism industry, both locally and internationally, to elevate the Maldives as a destination and drive record visitor arrivals. Preparations for the initiative are well underway, with Visit Maldives Corporation coordinating marketing and promotional efforts across key global markets.

The Steering Committee meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of progress made so far and align on priorities for the period ahead. Discussions covered the planning and coordination required across different areas of the campaign to ensure VMY 2027 delivers meaningful results for the Maldives tourism sector and the wider economy.

With VMY 2027 fast approaching, the Ministry remains focused on ensuring that preparations are on track and that all relevant stakeholders are working together toward a successful and impactful year for Maldives tourism.
