Measures taken on Novel Corona Virus

The government of the Maldives is taking preventive measures against Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Consequently, the government has decided to suspend all direct inbound flights from China to Maldives.

From the onset of the outbreak of Coronavirus, the Ministry of Tourism has set up a Situation Monitoring Unit at the Ministry (SMU). The purpose of SMU is primarily to monitor the statistics of Coronavirus outbreak in China and analyze the impact on tourism industry of the Maldives. SMU has shared nCov response guidelines to all tourist establishments. Furthermore, the Ministry has guided how to attend suspected cases in tourist facilities as according to Health Protection Agency guidelines.
